Dont want to give away too many spoilers but there are a few plot twists....firstly we discover the lead character is actually a female disguised as a male to compete in a prestigious competition usually only open to men.
The prince had been the biggest surprise of the day for her, not at all what she expected. She remembered hearing stories in her hometown of the prince of Estasia while she was growing up. She heard that was breathtakingly handsome but an arrogant womanizer who avoided responsibility like the plague. She had also heard rumors about women that swore that spending a night with the prince was like spending a night in heaven and that although they were usually abandoned the next day it was worth every minute of the prince’s temporary affections. She recalled the last story that she had heard about him which was that in an attempt to avoid the throne and also outrage
his father, Prince Edward had left the castle and joined the army to train as a royal warrior in the military. That was almost four years ago she thought to herself. Never in a million years did she expect that the down-to-earth, sweet, well-mannered owner of the coach she offered to repair would turn out to be the prince of Estasia! She mused that the only similarity she noticed between the rumors she had heard and her experience today was the princes’ good looks. Determined to stop thinking about the prince’s broad shoulders, and his hazelnut eyes contrasted by his black hair Zahara willed herself to focus instead on the games and the journey ahead. It was well past midnight when she finally got her mind off the prince and found sleep.
