In a moonlit night over the ocean, the spirit of Death hovers miles above a disaster, keeping a tally of the dead. The fallen sun of the morning, Satan, meets with him and gives Death a special mission: kill Hezekiah. Enraged because the Spirit Warrior saved Central City from demonic invasion, Lucifer wants him dead. Leaving Death, Satan enters Heaven’s Court and asks Jesus for the life of Hezekiah. Jesus gives a vague answer. Dissatisfied, Satan asks to kill Faith Parker and for the lives of the people in Central city. Jesus grants his request.
As a result, a mysterious sickness breaks out in Central City, and no one knows how to stop it. Also, Faith Parker is being hunted by demonic spirits who plots to kill her at every turn. Can Hezekiah foil Satan's plans to destroy Central City and save Faith Parker from the shadow of Death?
What is unique about this book is spiritual warfare that can be seen and touched by the characters in the book. It's a behind the scenes look of what happens in the spiritual realm. Also, the spiritual lessons that are in this book are very clear to see and understand. Readers will walk away from this book with a curiosity to read the bible.
My Favorite part of the book that I think readers will most enjoy is the relationship between the two main character. The book is filled with a lot of biblical lessons, but the two main characters bring the lessons to life.
Hezekiah and faith walk to the Jeep and get
in. Faith starts to drive. They leave the church and drive onto the road.
Both sit thinking to themselves as the hum of the street enters the
Jeep. Faith glances at Hezekiah. His eyes water, and he bows his head.
Faith exhales.
From the church roof, the evil spirit Murder scans the road for
Faith’s Jeep. Th ere you are. Murder swoops down and catches up to the
Jeep. He swoops down, flying on the passenger side. A shining light hits
the corner of Hezekiah’s eye. Hezekiah turns his head. Murder waves at
him. Hezekiah’s muscles tense. Faith glances at Hezekiah and notices
his muscles tensing. She peeks out his window but sees nothing. She
puts her hand on his leg and rubs it. He exhales. Murder smiles wide
and furrows his brow.
“What’s wrong, Hezekiah? Can’t get a grip?!” asks Murder.
“I don’t know why I’m worried. You’re not even real,” says Hezekiah.
“Who are you talking to?” asks Faith.
“Oh, I’m real. You’re about to find out how real I am!”
Murder rams the car, and the Jeep swerves. Faith fights the wheel
and regains control.
“Oh, look ahead, or you’re dead. I wouldn’t want you crashing into
someone,” says Murder.
Hezekiah turns his head to the road. A dark angel stands in the
road a yard from the Jeep. it stares at Faith. Hezekiah grabs the wheel
and yanks it to the left. The Jeep swerves away from the angel.
“Hezekiah, what are you doing!” shouts Faith. She yanks the wheel
to the right and steadies the Jeep into her lane. Hezekiah turns his head
toward the passenger window and stares.
“Oh, look, there it is again,” says Murder, pointing.
Hezekiah jolts his head toward the street. Another dark angel
stands in the middle of the street, seconds away from the Jeep. He
yanks the wheel again. The Jeep swerves out of the way of the angel
and toward an oncoming car. Faith screams and yanks the wheel. The
Jeep swerves back into her lane.
“If you’re going to do this, get out!” shouts Faith.
Murder pulls out a sword. Hezekiah takes off his seat belt. He
presses a button, and the convertible top pulls back.
“Hezekiah, what are you doing? I didn’t mean it,” says Faith.
Hezekiah crouches in the seat. Murder swoops above the Jeep and
dives down. Murder draws his arm back and swipes. Hezekiah blocks.
Air whooshing around him, he struggles to keep his balance.
“Hezekiah!” shouts Faith.
The dark angel looks at Faith. He flies backward, thrusts around the
Jeep, and zooms in on Faith. Hezekiah leaps out the Jeep and counters
him. They miss an oncoming car. They fly through a field, slam onto,
and roll across the soft grass in the park. They spring to their feet.
Murder swipes, and Hezekiah counters. They clash swords multiple
times in the low grass. Faith looks back in her rear-view mirror, and
Hezekiah is fighting the air.
Murder thrusts backward and flies off to chase Faith. Hezekiah
speeds off in pursuit. The angel spots the Jeep. Hezekiah leaps into the
air and hits Murder in the back. They fly toward an oncoming tractor
trailer. Hezekiah and Murder twist and slam onto the top of the trailer.
They slide and roll across the top to a stop. Both Murder and Hezekiah
stand. Hezekiah is on the back edge of the trailer.
Murder zooms at Hezekiah and swipes. Hezekiah counters and
pushes murder backward. Murder thrusts and swipes to cut him in half.
The man of God blocks. Hot sparks fly. Murder pushes him back to
get him off the truck. Hezekiah spins out of the way. Murder flies off
the truck, turns in midair, and rockets toward Faith’s Jeep. Hezekiah
zooms off the truck. Murder shoots toward Faith. He points his sword
toward her. Murder zeros in. Hezekiah shoves Murder away and into
a building. Hezekiah lands on the hood of the Jeep. The Jeep slightly
swerves. Faith keeps driving and closes the convertible top. Instead of
heading home, she drives to her father’s house. Murder watches from
a distance and laughs.
