The Ancient Light follows the hero's journey of an orphan plucked from his sleepy village one day by two mysterious warriors. After saving him from an attack by the dark creatures that roam the land, the warriors reveal to him that he has been chosen to be a bearer of the Ancient Light - but what is the Ancient Light and why has Juan never heard of it?
In the world of Endro, only one supreme power rules. But unbeknownst to most, an ancient power has prevailed through the ages. The Ancient Light has kept safe a remnant of its bearers, and now the time may come again for them to show themselves and change the course of history.
The book in its entirety, from the core conflict to the magic system, is based on my understanding of the deeper mystery behind our own physical world. While the book can be read in a superficial manner for (hopefully) an enjoyable journey, a reader may be invited to dive deeper into the underlying metaphors and philosophy that govern not only Endro, but our own world as well.
I've latched onto CS Lewis' idea of not strictly using allegory... but rather creating a fantasy world which, in essence has to be governed by the same laws and principles that were given by our Creator
I hope that the suspense build-up and conclusion in fight-scenes will make for an enjoyable read for anyone who enjoys action scenes.

seconds. Timing would be essential. Ten seconds. He made sure of his footing. Five, he held his breath.
