This story is based on true events. The author, Susanne, was an
immigrant student in her teens and English is her second
language. Susanne is as tall as a baby giraffe, and so that is why
Mrs. Zoe had to be the main character. She was often ridiculed
for being so tall and for not having mastery of the English
language. Throughout her teaching career, she aimed to make
sure that no child was mocked for being or looking different.
Susanne strived to make sure that each child was loved and
accepted. The students who struggled either in learning or
friendship skills were the ones who tugged at her heart a lot. On
the morning described in the book, she literally thought she could
not teach her class. Since her faith in Jesus is strong, she prayed
and pleaded with God for help. As you will see in this book that is
full of surprises, God showed up in a most fascinating way! God
decided to answer her prayer using three students to be her
ministering angels. An adorable Meerkat on the bottom of each
page mirrors the story in a way that will delight children of all ages.
This book is based on a true story.
My favourite part is how Mrs. Zoe regains her strength when she calls out to Jesus when anxious.
How do you think Mrs. Zoe felt now?
Well, she felt amazing and her love tank now was so completely filled up that
she could spread her teacher love to all these angels right in front of her. A
deep peace settled into her heart, having renewed hope that her child would
make better choices and others would start being kinder to her as well. She
might even hit her head less often.
Mrs. Zoe stared at the angel and the pennies. These gifts from heaven gave
her strength for the day while waiting patiently for His answers.
She recited her favourite verse to herself:
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me, Philippians 4 verse 13.
