Like a warm cabin in the snowy mountains, our God is a safe refuge. Take a 30 day journey into the mountains, and spend time drawing close to God. Lean into these devotionals and hear what the Spirit is saying to you through the images, stories and scriptures. Write down your thoughts on the journaling pages to help solidify the lessons in your heart and mind.
This devotional, part of a nature series, will bring the beauty and healing of God's creation into your daily life, with a visual experience that gets you into the peaceful surroundings of nature, before you ever read a word.
This book reflects many of my personal stories in seeing God's lessons found in nature. Stories that I hope will inspire and encourage readers in their daily walk with God. Creation has a natural healing effect that these pages will bring through in the collaboration of the quotes, scripture and message from my life journey. I pray the Spirit will give you rest and revelation as you read these pages.
Mountains Majesty
"You are not in the mountains, The mountains are in you" ~John Muir
"Situated high above, Mount Zion is beautiful to see, the pleasure of the entire earth. Mount Zion, in the north..." Psalm 48:2
From my kitchen window is a breathtaking view of Mt Shasta. I never get tired of it. I always catch my breath when I see it. When the clouds obscure it, I sigh. What an amazing gift we’ve been given - all the beauty of creation, and the insight and passion to be able to appreciate it.
There’s a saying, “Stop and smell the roses”, which reminds us to slow down and appreciate the beautiful things that are right in front of us. I spent a lot of years in a busy, stressful blur of work, raising my daughter, running a business, etc. It took so long to break out of that cycle.
I hope that taking a few minutes reading these devotions will give you the ‘pause’ you need in life to pursue the quiet moments that bring us closer to God. But more than just a pause, we need to recalibrate. Psalm 39:6 says, “In truth, each of us journeys through life like a shadow. We busy ourselves accomplishing nothing, piling up assets we can never keep...”
Lord help us to have wisdom in knowing what is truly important in life. Teach us to live in the sweet space of appreciating everything you’ve given us every day. Help us find what it is you would have us do. Life is too precious to live like a shadow. Amen
