Going Deeper is insanely practical, entirely focused on how to connect with God in prayer and the Bible rather than just theology, and applicable to your daily prayer life each week. There are also discussion guides every other chapter if two people want to discuss the content and their prayer assignments.
I'm confident readers will have their relationship with God impacted in a profound way with each chapter.
My favorite part of Part 2 is the Module on God's throne room. In it, readers are equipped to use their imaginations (set their minds) on things above, where Christ is seated, and where we are seated with Him. There are so many verses that describe God's throne room and what God's glory looks like. Readers will quickly learn how to interact with God in a personal way by picturing Him as they talk to Him.
“In my early years, my prayer life was transformed as I learned to engage God as a Person with my spiritual eyes. The principle of interacting with God with my spiritual senses became foundational, and it became a fountain of encounter from which worship gushed out. As a fruit of consistently meditating on the throne room in Revelation 4, my imagination quickly pictures Him and engages with Him whenever I spend time with Him. When I close my eyes, I see, hear, and feel the whispers of that room and God’s splendor as though I’m really there. This has been a powerful way to connect to Him as a real person, a helpful way to stay focused and engaged in my mind, and a place to experience awe and fascination with God. Most people struggle in prayer because of distracted thinking and because they don’t have anything to focus their minds on. I’ve found that the prayer posture of gazing on God addresses the issue of a distracted mind and exercises more of our spiritual senses. Not only does it heal distraction, gazing on God supernaturally connects us to our heavenly position in Jesus and causes us to live from the throne room in every area of our lives.”
“If then you were raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ is, sitting at the right hand of God. Set your mind on things above, not on things on the earth. For you died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God. When Christ who is our life appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory. Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: fornication, uncleanness, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry.—Colossians 3:1-5”
